ADHESIVES BY MYK LATICRETE
PUA 212 is a two component, modified Polyurethane Adhesive designed for the installation of ceramic tile, vitrified tile, metal tile, glass tile, agglomerates, glass mosaic tile and natural stone on any substrate. It is highly elastic, thixotropic and suitable to lay water sensitive tiles & stones on highly expandable, deformable, absorbent and non-absorbent substrates.
Areas of Application: Designed especially for interior and exterior floor and wall installations of all types of ceramic tile, vitreous, semi-vitreous tile, glass mosaic tiles, precast terrazzo, engineered stone, metal tiles and natural stones over concrete and on a variety of substrates including metal substrates and drywall boards
Unit
While using PUA 212 adhesive to install tiles/stone on Dry wall boards like Plywood, Cement Backer board, Calcium Silicate Board, Gypsum wall board, metal it is important to check with the manufacturer of the board, for the load bearing capacity and internal strength of the board to sustain the loading of tiles and stones. It is recommended to commence work only on such confirmation and seek from them, the methodology of fixing of boards to keep them stable without moving and (warping) bending.
Ensure the substrate is clean and free from impurities like dust, dirt, debris, oil, grease, etc . Clean the back of tile for any dust or coating. While installing tiles and stones on dry wall boards, it is important to see that the joint spaces between the adjacent boards should be carried up to the top of tile and the adhesive mortar is not allowed to enter the space between the boards. It is recommended to use spacers to create joints while tiling on the drywall boards. While filling up the joints between the tiles and stones installed on dry wall boards use highly flexible EPOXY grout.
PUA 212 is prepared by mixing together parts A and B from the bottom upwards, with the preset ratio of 1: 4 of the packs. Pour part A into the bucket containing part B, being careful to mix the two parts uniformly until a smooth, even coloured mixture is obtained. The user must mix a quantity of adhesive which can be consumed within 1 hour
PUA 212 comes in a preset ratio of 1:4. Just mix part A and part B uniformly and its ready for application.
Use of spacer is recommended to provide grout joints between tiles. The joint width shall be as per the recommendation of architect / engineer or as per choice. Remove the spacers when the adhesive is set firm. Excess adhesive shall be cleaned from the surface of the tile / stone with wet cloth or sponge while the mortar is fresh.
Grout installation shall be commenced after a minimum of 24 to 36 hours curing time at +35° C.
For maximum stain resistance EPOXY GROUT is recommended
Light foot traffic approximately 2 – 4 days
Heavy foot traffic approximately 3 – 6 days
Approx. 8 sq.ft. per 4 kg kit and 16 sq.ft per 8kg kit with a 1/4” x 1/4” (6mm x 6mm) square notch trowel for a bed of 3mm.
Coverage will vary depending on trowel notch size, type and size of tile/stone and substrate smoothness and evenness.
